Oeuf Circle Garland

oeufcirclegarlandTOPPIC.jpgWe were gushing over Oeuf's new Robin collection this past summer, but another new Oeuf item has caught our eye. We love the beauty of simple, geometric shapes and their Circle Garland is no exception.

A 90" string of colorful alpaca circles, $54, can add a touch of simple whimsy to your child's room. There's just something so very joyful about garlands!

Yes, it's cute, but $54 for a string of knitted--I'm assuming they're knitted or crocheted--circles to hang on the wall? Couldn't you (or a friend) just do it for free from the leftovers in your knitting basket? Of course it wouldn't be all alpaca, but it wouldn't be $54, either.

They just look felted to me. And, for as long as most nursery items stay put, I would be happier just punching circles out of craft store felt and stringing those up. Five bucks to beautiful! :)

Absolutely adorable, but, yeah, get yourself some wool felt, cut out circles and run them through the sewing machine. I did something similar for Christmas garland last year:

I'm not saying mine is as lovely, but I don't think the kids will care.

I thought they were craft store pom poms at first, which gives me a great idea for our stash of pom poms...
