Known for his tongue in cheek "cute" imagery, Japanese artist Yoshitomo Nara cleverly and seamlessly combines the sweet with the not-so-sweet using popular culture and manga to complete his vision. His iconic images are considered by many to be major works in the art community, and yet many of them can easily fit into your child's room decor. Here are a few items that can easily work with your budget --- and a few others that, if money were no object, we'd definitely be all over.

Would like some Nara in the kitchen? How about some

I own the clock and love it. But be aware, it is NOT nursery friendly. It says F**k when the minutes reach "00". You can clearly see it on the top picture.

Whoa! Good eyes, Krs10joy. I totally missed that. This may be one of those items for the adult "nursery" ;)

krsjoy10 - does the clock make noise when the minutes flip? have been thinking about it for my bedroom?

I know the question wasn't directed at me, but I figured I'd answer in case someone else didn't. I too own the clock and it's quite loud. When all four numbers flip (like on the hour) I can hear it in a quiet house on the second floor with the clock on the first floor. While the seconds don't count off individually, the flipping of the plastic for the minutes and hours is a little noisy.

I have admired that clock, but in addition to the price, I don't care for some of the images. I think the clock also has some images that are violent/angry and show persons smoking. That plus the F**K (good call) makes it pretty unappealing for any room in my kid-filled home.

I grew up watching Japanese cartoons like Doraemon, and the parents smoke cigarettes in virtually every scene they're in.
I think smoking is slightly less taboo in Japan.
