Zoo Timers by George Nelson

zoo-timers.jpgMost of us know George Nelson for his beloved Ball Clock, which was originally designed in the 1950s. But how many of us knew about the lesser-known series of children's clocks that Nelson designed a decade later? Called Zoo Timers, these clocks have been re-released by Vitra in recent years, and we're just as charmed by them now as we're certain people must have been forty years ago.

Each clock, fabricated in plastic with quartz movement, is roughly 10" by 11", making them a great size for a child's room or nursery. We're partial to Omar the Owl ourselves, but there's also Talulah the Toucan, Fernando the Fish, and Elihu the Elephant.
