Chinese Theme Birthday Party

2008-06-17-cherry blossoms.jpgThough we're not always big on theme parties, we were really blown away by the details and beautiful decorations that Kirsten put together for her daughter's Chinese-themed birthday party. One of our favorite things- these "cherry blossoms" Kirsten made by glue-gunning pink tissue paper blossoms to branches. So pretty!

She borrowed these paper lanterns from a friend and made tissue paper flowers to hang along with them. We love the result.

Activities included dipping fortune cookies in chocolate and writing their names in Chinese calligraphy (Kirsten had already printed each of their names for them to work with).

We love how their calligraphy looks in these pretty red bags they got to take home.

We're most impressed that Kirsten says the total cost of the party was $30. A wonderful example of how a little creativity goes a long way, and a great party doesn't need to cost a fortune. Check out the rest of her description at her blog.
