But living in walking distance to a large Whole Foods, we decided to mix the mini cupcakes they sell there for about 12 for $5, with some regular sized cupcakes we ordered- all in white. Then we stuck a heart shaped small cookies (also at Whole Foods) in each one.
We borrowed a cupcake platter from a friend and topped it all off with a cupcake clothespin doll from Etsy shop Wee Cute Treasures. It was simple, affordable, and we heard from guests- delicious.

So cute! I will have to do this for my daughters first birthday, especially since I have a variety of cake plates waiting to be used!

Very cute! I did something similar; I made two different sizes of cupcakes and one of those "giant" cupcake cakes, and displayed them on an assortment of cake plates, some on pedestals, some not. With icing and decorations in the party colors, it looked great.
