Owl Goodie Bags

2009-10-owlbag.jpg

Our son is still too young for trick-or-treating, but not too young for a costume. So we want to show him off and spread some Halloween cheer to our neighbors by delivering some baked goods. The baking itself is effort enough so we were happy to find this super-easy packaging idea with downloadable template.

Head on over to Susie and Heidi's blog Make Something Happy to print out the owl head template which you simply attach to the top of a brown paper bag. (In a pinch, we think you could size this for a quick owl mask). They're filling theirs with pumpkin biscotti (they even provide a recipe) while we're planning on these caramel apple cookies.

Susie and Heidi are also the proprietresses of an excellent paper goods shop (along with some totes and mugs) called Rock Scissor Paper. Fans of owls, they've even dedicated a section of their shop to them - click here to enter the Owl Shoppe.

I do the baking and visiting every year for different reasons. I use ready made bags, but I love your owls. Here's my post from last year's halloween including the coffin brownies. I've just made some more of these for friends for this Halloween.
