It turns out that Jessica's birthday crown is just the tip of the iceberg of her party skillz. She is the mom to a construction-infatuated son, Theo, and threw him one heck of a birthday party.

There are plenty of great DIY ideas here to inspire you if your little one is begging for a construction party. From the painted work barricade sawhorse and caution tape garland to the yummy food and favor buckets not to mention all the fun to be had with the sand tables and themed coloring pages, Jessica covered all her bases. One idea you might not be able to steal, however, is a visit from "Bob the Builder" himself - aka a local landscaper who treated the kids to rides on his backhoe.

Thanks, Jessica!

Oh my gosh, why didn't I think of this when my son was younger? My Dad owns a landscaping company & has the backhoe and a HUGE shiny dumptruck which my kids love riding in! Jack was really into Bob the Builder from ages 1-4. I wonder if I could pull this off for his 7th birthday. ??! What a great birthday idea! Off to Jessica's blog to find out where that table runner came from...

What a great party! Maybe next year my boys will be interested in that kind of thing. :)
