Train Cupcake Mold

2007.08.24.nursery.cupcake.train.mold.jpg

We love cupcakes, so it is no surprise that we are charmed by the end results from the Train Cupcake Mold. Above, 16 individually decorated cupcakes make up that train. Birthday cakes are great, but nothing beats holding an individual cake make just for you. These also lend themselves well for fancy decorating, and frankly, they are just fun. Check out the mold, below, as well as some scrumptious closeup shots.

It looks so easy, and the yield is 24 cupcakes...enough for a kid's party, and a few for parents to eat once everybody goes home. This mold is made of silicone, so it is refrigerator, freezer, microwave, metal utensil and dishwasher safe.

Cute, which is always a bonus, but we like how easy the molds make decorating - just follow the lines.

How can you be in a bad mood if you have cupcakes? We think that the train engine is probably for the birthday girl or boy...or for the baker, since it appears to be 4 cupcakes in all, plus 2 for the clouds, and 6 cupcakes sounds about right for the parent that baked 'em.

If you are cupcake inclined, or thinking about throwing a circus-themed birthday party, the Train Cupcake Mold is on sale right now for $19.99. Mixing up all that icing means these take a lot of time to decorate, but the results are worth it.

Williams Sonoma sells a metal pan with an upright train. Search their site for "9-8239147" and you can get it for $18!
