Anonymously deliver a couple of bags of goodies to a couple of neighbors. Include a little paper ghost and instructions for how they continue the game. (basically they continue the game by booing two more people who don't yet have ghosts in their windows).
We found the idea here, and there are even free "You've Been Booed!" printouts with ghosts and instructions here.
This was a delightful surprise the first Halloween we lived in my town. It's fun to receive and fun to pay it forward.

this is so much fun. we do this with our neighborhood kids in mind. such as a family of three (boy 7, girls 11 and 15 and buy one special thing for them and fill the rest with candy. this year i am making one for and elderly friend who cant get out much....its really a sweet thing.

Each time we moved to a new house, we brought this game with us to share with our new neighborhood. Everybody loved it and it made everybody go outside and do something with the family!

Thanks for the link -- and for reminding me that I need to get to it before "boo'ing" season is over!
