Sources for Sophisticated Oilcloth

We're fans of oilcloth (tablecloths, splat mats, placemats, etc.) for families because it's so functional, but we've never been fond of traditional oilcloth patterns and colors. Most of what we see in stores is overly bright, kitschy and reminds us of the dollar store - fruit, flowers, Hawaiian, gingham, etc. So we were thrilled to come across a few sources for oilcloth with grown-up prints and sophisticated color palettes. Links to sources and a few of our favorite oilcloth projects below the jump.

1 Sun Fortune and Citrus Small Gathering by Anna Maria Horner ($18.50/yard)
2 Etsuko Furuya Echino Oilcloth ($27/yard, more colorways available)
3 RRMexico Supply (Etsy) ($5.80/meter)

Your #3 listing for oilcloth from RRMexico has the wrong price. It is actually $5.80 not $580...I couldn't imagine what kind of designer oilcloth could be almost six hundred dollars a meter.

I bought the regular linen and cotton Echino textile. It is sooooooooo beautiful !! I'm going to se a pyjama for a friend's baby, using a bright aqua fabric with polka dots as accent fabric. Great resources !

I bought a great Marimekko oilcloth here:

It's pricey, but looks great as a tablecloth, a surface to color on, or underneath my daughter's easel.

The problem with oilcloth is it contains PVC. I found one at the Land of Nod which doesn't contain any of those harsh chemicals:

the for price of one to make, i might as well buy one there!

It's really upsetting that oilcloth contains PVC but Mimi the Sardine offers PVC-free, Oko Tex certified tablecloths, lunch bags and aprons that I love.
