Tyvek isn't a material we're very familiar with (you might know it as what painter's suits are made out of), but when we saw it in these pretty colors and pattern we wanted to know more. It's non-toxic, durable and suitable for lots of sewing and DIY projects.
These designs are sold by the yard ($13) by Mio who probably anticipated that consumers might not know what to use it for so they've provided some ideas on their website. Above you can see they used it for covering school books (though we do feel kind of nostalgic for the brown grocery bag covers we made as kids), placemats, room dividers, pull shades and wrapping paper. Other ideas they suggest are kites, bibs, tents, pillows, ponchos, table cloths, and phone or MP3 cases (they even have some instructions available for download). We're also thinking this would be a great material foraprons and beach bags.
Loop is sold in three reversible color combos: green-grey, orange-red and pink-purple. The name Loop has significance as Mio sends every customer a bag in which they can mail back scraps or unused material which will then be recycled.
