Sam's February Jumpstart Project 2009

Title: White Board Fireplace Cover
Name: Sam
Time: Less than an hour, plus drying time
Cost: About $30

A kid-friendly solution to temporarily turn a fireplace an art space. Click above for pics, below for the how-to and be sure to give Sam a THUMBS UP if you find this project helpful....

Tools:
One white board measured and cut to size, 4 heavy duty magnets, one tube of super strong apoxy.

Steps:
1. measured the opening of the fireplace, and then got a piece of white board cut with an extra inche on each side so that there was some overlap. You could also use a chalkboard or magnet board.
2. Use strong apoxy to adhere one magnet to each corner on the back.
3. Allow plenty of time to dry, we had our board sit overnight.
4. Place white board with magnets over fireplace opening. Now you have a fun place for your child to draw, and your open fireplace is child proofed!

Sources:
We got our white board cut to size for free at Lowe's which was a big help.
