In a small kitchen, finding room for a table can often be a problem. And, when you have a child but need to be in the kitchen, this can be a challenge. If you have a built in cabinet, you might take a page from decorator Anne Hepfer...
Her home, profiled in this month's Canadian House and Home, includes this elegant solution in the kitchen: a bottom shelf of a built in cabinet extends out to form a small table. While its dimensions may be too small for two adults, it's the perfect size for a child or, in this case, two; it can also be used as a workspace. We'd add hinges to make it even more useful.
