Flickr Find: Nina's Room

When mixing patterns together, one should be assertive and feel confident in their choices. Upon looking at Nina's room, it's clear that her mother, Jane certainly is as she's a whiz at marrying the perfect patterns and textures together.

Of the room, Jane, tells us, "This room is a combination of vintage finds and Ikea. Nina wanted black curtains because the room is very light. Since the rug also has black in it we added yellow to keep it sunny. I made the mural 15 years ago when I moved into this house. It was my bedroom at the time. Nina almost painted it over but then she changed her mind and left it. I'm glad she did."

We love the look of the browns and purples contrasting with the various yellows in the bed. It gives the room such a vibrant jolt of color -- yet it still allows plenty of attention to be paid to the gold mural Jane created just above the bed.
