Flickr Finds: A Modern Nursery

2007.05.30.nursery.flickrfinds2.jpg

Some rooms are so lovely they take your breath away. Check out this inspiring modern nursery, which is peaceful with a touch of whimsy. We love to see 'adult' furniture, like that gorgeous Modernica Case Study Day Bed being integrated into nursery design. And apparently, no complaints from this lucky baby!

More photos, after the jump.

Love the peaceful pale wall color and plane. And the Modernica couch is inspired - since it converts to a bed in seconds, it makes the nursery a short-term guest bedroom, or just a place to nap with the baby.

We spy Candaloos on the window sill, a gorgeous Jason Lewis rocking chair, a Rug Company Smarties Rug, and a notNeutral Baby Boomer Too Shelf Unit.

Another great shot of the Jason Lewis rocker.

This is a great modern nursery, and one that will grow as baby grows up. Michi and Yen, thank you so much for tagging your Flickr photos with apartmentherapynursery. This lovely room is truly an inspiration.

This is a great modern nursery IF you have a million bucks to spend. The rest of us will have to look for more creative solutions for putting together an inspiring and modern nursery.

I disagree Lesley, I think this could serve as inspiration and easily be put together using less expensive pieces. I think it's a great example of minimal clutter, beautiful complimentary colors, and clean lines. I love the nursery, especially that rug!!

Dunno. Seems kind of cluttered to me. Every bit of floor around the perimeter is taken up with something. Not sure why you need a couch like that in a nursery. i have those cloud/plane stickers and i love them. Love the rocker too. Some art on the walls would be nice. Maybe an outdoor scene since the theme of the walls are sky blue/outdoors.

I agree, if I had thousand of dollars to spend on a nursery, I too would easily come up with a nursery like that. What about a full nursery room for under $1000?

It's not about the furniture peeps, it's about the COLOR, and the colors here (especially the pale blue with the grey of the couch) are great!

"Seems kind of cluttered to me."

To me it seems boring, empty and uninspired

paint the walls pale blue and get a grey sofa and you've got the room above

In my mind the rug (which I adore) doesn't go with the calm restfulness of the rest of the room - and why fill up a whole wall with a huge sofa and then have to have the changing table in front of a closet? - makes no sense to me

I Love the nursery for the exception of the sofa and the rug...they seem so out of place. I am truly inspired with the wonderful colors; but, the arrangement of furniture and that sofa is a distraction.
