Flickr Finds: Wrapping Paper Storage Solution

2008-04-30-wrap.jpg

We like to keep an assortment of wrapping paper on hand, but hate how much space the rolls can take up. So we really like this simple storage idea which uses ceiling closet space. This idea would also work great to store your kids' artwork if you're using mailing tubes as we've suggested before.

Flickr member, frankfarm, simply used four anchors, screws and galvanized wire to hold his wrapping paper selection. If you tie it tight enough we bet you could also use twine or strong string instead of wire.

Do you have other solutions for storing your family's wrapping paper stash?

I'm going to steal this idea! I like nice paper and wrapping paper and have accumulated a lot of it. (I've even received wrapping paper as a gift, which is kind of ironic.) It does take a lot of space to store it, though, so this is a great idea.

When I saw the first photo, I thought that the rolls were standing on end at the side of the closet. That would work better for my situation, I think.

That's insane... but in a good way. Damn those 10' ceilings!

I slide the rolls into old panty hose and hang on hangers

I'm not organized enough to have a supply of wrapping paper, but I sure do have a lot of posters which could also be stored in a similar manner. They're in a box taking up closet space, but hopefully by the end of the week, I can put this system into action.

Thanks for the idea!
