As days grow darker and temperatures drop, you may find yourself looking for ways to keep your kids busy and productive around the house. Last month we posted about DIY Kids, a resource and inspiration book filled with DIY projects for your kids to make. We have two copies to give away to AT Nursery readers and all we ask is that the winners send us a photo and short description of a project your kids make within a month of receiving the book.

Hope you pick me. I look forward to doing a project with my daughter. :)

If this book has activities for toddlers, I pray that the gods that govern over random drawings smile upon me. It's been rainy and miserable all week here in Vancouver (just a taste of winter to come), and our municipal workers' strike means that all the libraries are closed and most community centres aren't operating. We're starting to go a little all-work-and-no-play-makes-Jack-a-dull-boy over here.

I would really love to try out this book, both with my 3-year-old and the 10- and 11-year-olds I teach. I could base a review on both ends of the spectrum, if selected.

As a mom of 4 (ages 3, 5, 6 & 8) who loves to get messy, crafty, and have fun with my kids, I'd love to win. We'd give the book quite a workout and provide a review from different points of view age-wise.

I have Design It Yourself by Ellen Lupton and this would make a fine companion. I am a young uncle and I want my several niecees and nephews to be exposed to the sort of old school creativity we amused ourselves with as children. i think their generation is entirely too attached to the keyboard, so when they visit I want them to have options outside of myspace and youtube.
I too remember "Make and Do." It was a volume in a collection of children's encyclopedias devoted entirely to arts and crafts. There were directions for hundreds of bizzare things like coffe can stilts, and even a hot-dog costume!!! Don't Hate!!!

Oh joy! This would be perfect. I have two girls and am going to grad school. Between work and school and making meals and cleaning house, it's hard to come up with creative projects that we can do together. It would be nice to let my big girl pick a project and we could gather supplies together and sit around after dinner some night and get crafty!
