Good Questions: Child-sized Seating

2008-01-29-avachair.jpg

Ohdeedoh Reader Em wrote in to ask: Hi Ohdeedoh! I'm looking for an upholstered toddler-sized chair for my 2 year old daughter. I don't like the puffy, traditional stuff I'm seeing at Pottery Barn Kids. Any recommendations?

Dear Em:

We agree that toddlers need a place to lounge. We love the lines and styling of the Ava Chair by Jennifer Delonge (see our previous post here). The Ava also available as a couch. Both look so good you won't mind having them sharing a spot in your living room.

Any other suggestions for Em?

Ikea makes a child size version of the Poang chair. My daughter loves hers!

I was looking for a comfy chair for my 3 year old to replace a fisher price rocker that I had to get out of my living room. I wanted something in adult colors that would go with my living room plus something he could use for a while. I ended up with a bean bag from Pottery Barn Teen --they carry colors in a modern palate and I got a chocolate color bag. It's not perfect, but it works with our space and really much better than many of the chairs/bags that I have seen.
