My wife and I recently bought and installed the Boon Frog Pod. I know now that this impulse buy was a mistake, as it only laasted 36 hours on our wall (even though I followed the installation instructions to the letter). I was wondering if any of your readers had similar problems and maybe suggestions on how to fix it, short of installing it with screws. I hope you can help. Love the site and happy holidays.

I actually had problems with the suction cups on the marble tiles. So I taped clear wide packaging tape on the area where the suction cups would go, and used a little soapy water on the suction cups before placing them on the tape. So far the frog has been up for a week and nothing has fallen. I don't know how long this will last, but I figure this is easier to do than screwing the frog in the wall (we are renters).

We have one of these and it's stayed up for well over a month without any problems with just the suction cups. Our tub is not tile, though, and our FrogPod is not as full as the marketing picture used above... I don't really know what to tell you, other than to suggest not filling it up so much or try doing what Lula said. Contact Boon, if you need to. Best of luck.

I can only sympathize. We have had ours for almost a year and it has spent less than a month on the wall; it won't stay up for anything. We tried to adhesive strips and the suction cups, but haven't tried drilling into the tile.

We also had a problem with the frog staying on the wall (initially I used the adhesive strips). I sent an email to Boon, and they sent me additional adhesive strips and suction cups. So far, we're doing OK with the suction cups (on a tile wall - do NOT wet the wall first). I'm guessing that a lot of customers have had these issues based upon their response and ideas regarding repairs (like using your blow dryer to heat up the tiles, etc.) I also quit putting heavy things (like shampoo) in the compartment designed for that purpose. I don't think I'd drill into the wall since you can always get a mesh bag to put the bath toys in - not as cute, but it would work and not permanently mess up your bathroom for what will be a relatively short phase of childhood. Good luck, and I'd start by contacting Boon.

We also had a problem with the adhesive strips and the few suction cups that came in the package. We contacted Boon and they sent replacement piece with many suction cups on it.
We have 1 bottle of shampoo in the compartment.
I notice it falls down each time I scrub the tiles.

The adhesives failed us, then we got replacement parts with suction cups. Nothing worked. I hate the Boon Frog.

What about using some 3M Command Adhesive? I LOVE that stuff.

suction cups? ours only came with adhesive strips and very intimidating instructions... My husband took one look at it, and rolled his eyes, claiming it'll never work (an engineer, he says that about a lot of things, so I usually ignore it)... our frog has thus spent the past 9 months laying on its belly on the floor... one of those nagging projects...

Ours fell off once and I put it back up with some 3M foam tape from Home Depot... no problems. I love it!

I second bdunn90 in my loathing of the Boon Frog. It didn't last four hours after following the mounting instructions to the letter. Then I ordered a different mounting piece with suction cups, figuring another five dollars was worth getting the $30 Frog to work (now I realize I should have called customer service first, as they are sending them out gratis). It lasted even less than the first time (although I got a chuckle over their instructions that it "will not work properly if any suction cups are installed over grout lines" - how are people with tiled showers supposed to manage that?). It currently lives in our closet until I can figure out something rational to do with it, even though I want to huck it out the window.

Adhesive didn't work for us either, so we emailed Boon and got suction cups (free) in the mail. They've been holding for over a year now, but we no longer store our shampoo at the top.

ours has held solidly for months now. you need to follow the directions exactly as they are stated. clean the wall, use the alcohol pads to wipe again before application, make sure the wall is dry, do not stick the suction cups over any grout or grooves, press firmly. if your attempts fail, i suppose that's why boon included screws...

I have to say, I did not have high hopes for the frog. However, we've had ours for about 6 months and it fell for the first time last week. We use the suction cups on ceramic tile. I love it. Hope you get yours to work - the 3M Command adhesive might help indeed.

Ours has been up for months as well. We also do not keep shampoo in the top shelf. I was skeptical when I read that none of the suction cups can be on grout, but I was able to position it so that all the cups are on tile (I also used my own isopropyl alcohol as opposed to the pad they include, and didn't use the shower for as long as the instructions said not to). Good luck!

Weird. We've never had any problems. We use the suction cups. We first used them on marble. We recently moved and now use them on tile. We also followed instructions exactly and waited to use the shower. We fill it up with beach toys, but have never tried to keep our shampoo on it.

We have the frog & love it. So far several months and no problems. We only store the bath toys and no shampoo, I like to keep a basket of bath products under the sink & pull it out for bath time rather than leaving them out. We had used the suction cups but i will update if it falls.
