Good Questions: Amsterdam Shopping?

Rachel needs your help! She sent us this email: Wondering if AT readers can help me -- am going to Amsterdam next week on a business trip with some free time scheduled in. Would like to shop for my son who is 8 months old. Can folks recommend good stores in Amsterdam for clothes, toys, bedding etc.?

Irene from Bloesem posted the Amsterdam weekend read a while ago - a great store for kids is Keet in Huis.

I really like the ZARA Home department at ZARA {Kalverstraat 67-69}, they carry some cute items for kids. And please take a stroll down the Negen Straatjes {The Nine Streets} - lovely little shops such as Exota {kids clothing line: Petit Louie}.

Koter & Co {Toddler & Co} is located in Amsterdam-Zuid; take tram 25 at the Central Station {destination President Kennedylaan}.

Oo! Oo! My favorite shop when I was living in Amsterdam was De Beestenwinkel on Staalstraat: http://www.beestenwinkel.nl/ A whole store full of amazing stuffed animals! I got a jerboa there. Lovely.

Don't miss HEMA for the Jip en Janneke books either -- even if you can't read Dutch, the drawings are precious.
