Good Questions: Glider with a Smaller Footprint?

montelucao33109.jpgLaura sent an email:We are currently squeezing a baby and a three-year-old into an 800 square foot apartment. We already have a Dutaillier glider (courtesy of the in-laws) that is too big for a shared room. I'd be thrilled to unload it and get something smaller. The Dutaillier is around 27" wide and 31" deep. Are there any rockers or gliders out there with a smaller footprint? I dream of the Monte Luca glider, but frankly can't afford it . . .

When my boys were born last year, they were in the hospital for a couple of weeks because of their preemie status. The rockers at the hospital nursery were really great and had a small footprint (all the rocking parts were also covered - I always worry about little hands getting caught under there). My guess is they were about the same size or possibly smaller than the Luca. Unfortunately, no one at the hospital could tell me where they were manufactured as they had been purchased in bulk 3 years previously. It looked almost like this except the bottom was completely encased in wood:

Maybe your local hospital would have leads on something similar?
