The above photo is from a post about a DIY growth chart made by Karin Knowland which you can read about right here as part of our Growth Chart Roundup from last year. We're sure readers know of plenty more good ones as well, so we're turning it over to them....

Please add any suggestions or sources for Jennifer to the comments below...thanks!

We used a DIY idea we saw in a magazine and really like how it turned out. Mount a wooden carpenter's ruler on the wall (the folding kind), mark the heights at various ages with a paint pen, then hang a framed photo of them at that age alongside the mark on the ruler. It becomes a photo display as well as a growth chart. We like that it can continue to hang long after the kids are grown without looking too 'kiddie'.

I've seen a variety of growth charts from different etsy sellers. There is a good range of styles and materials. I like the ones that look like they could continue to hang, as Lizzie55 said, after the kids have grown.

Miss Natalie's Heirloom Growth Chart is the one we got and love. It's from etsy and I've also seen it at fawnandforest.com.

Don't make our mistake and get a paper one. We found a cute Eric Carle one that wasn't too expensive and looked awesome in our son's room. Until he turned two and ripped it off the wall. There's lots to be said for sturdy!

We got a very cute Decole one from Japanese Gift Market: http://www.japanesegiftmarket.com/Decole-ForKids-GrowthChart.aspx. It came with peg markers but i choose to use a Sharpie instead, because the pegs kept getting moved to taller positions!

I make custom growth charts on canvas. I use paint and paper with a durable finish to create whatever theme you wish. Unique and portable. You can check out my website...www.darling.typepad.com.

Me and my partner have also gotten into making growth charts (they've been turning out so much fun to make)! We print them on extremely durable and waterproof adhesive fabric.
Our store is OrignauxMoose.Etsy.com (and this one I made especially with adventurous boys in mind!) Thanks!
