Ceri has a good question: Do you have any suggestions on how or what to do with recalled crib parts? I have this beautiful wood from my crib that was recalled and I HATE to throw it out. I am trying to figure out what to do with it in the nursery because it still matches the changing table, and dresser.... Any thoughts on what to do with it?

could the sides be used to make doors for a boocase or something?
save the sides to make head and footboards for a bed
save reconfigure the pieces into a low daybed/sofa for reading
reconfigure into a play house/fort
hang on the wall as a back ground for art
trelis
maybe it could be used to hang/display stuffed animals or as a blanket rack?

when my sis and I outgrew our cribs, the parts were used to make a trundle bed. The crib rails were cut shorted to make the rails and head/foot boards. So, if you know any handymen, turn it into a daybed.
Also, use your judgement - what was the crib recalled for? It there anything you can do to fix it us and maybe use it later as a daybed or toddler bed...

I used my recalled crib for a display rack. I painted it green and hammered little nails for hanging things on it. It lets me change things up on the crib railing instead of nailing a ton of holes in the wall. (we rent!)

Good luck!

we hinged the long sides of ours together to make a gate for our christmas tree-- it turned out to be the perfect place to hang our stockings and looked so much nicer than the supergate we'd used before.
