Andrea is looking for feedback on a particular high chair. Anyone? (Bueller?...Bueller?)
I am going to be a first time mom in a few months and have just started looking at registry options. I really like the Inglesina Club Highchair, but I can't find any reviews about it. Has anyone used this product? Thanks!
Andrea, we're sorry to say we have no direct experience with the Inglesina and no one has left reviews at Epinions, Amazon or Target. We did find a favorable review at highchairs.com, but we know you'd be best served by an evaluation by a real parent.
The Inglesina Club Chair comes in orange, aqua, red and grey. It sells for around $120 and is available widely including here, here and here.
Dear reader, do you own this high chair? If so, how do you like it? Would you buy it again?
i haven't used this chair, but as a newer mom myself i found that a high chair is pretty much useless (and space-consuming) for months and months, and since people rarely buy what is on your registry (be prepared for endless ugly clothing gifts!!) i would go for the stuff you really really need right away!

I haven't used it, but the one concern I have looking at it is the height of the back. We have the Stokke Tripp Trapp still in storage because my little guy needed more head and neck support. Though I have heard that other babies have no trouble with that sort of upper body strength, so maybe it's baby specific. Maybe you can get it with the option to return if it doesn't work out for your babe? Good luck - there's a whole lot of ugly in the high chair world.

Again, we haven't used it, but it looks very similar to the Ikea Antelope, which we do have. I'd say the bonus feature on this one is the padded seat and foot rest. Until recently (he is currently 12 months) we couldn't keep our little guy in past his last bite, because (we think) he was uncomfortable on the hard plastic seat. He has been sitting unsupported since 6 months, which is when we started solids, so we had no issue with the back/head support issue. If you are going for a clean modern design, I'd consider the Antelope at 1/5 the cost...

We liked Ikea's Antelope because there was no padded seat - much easier to wipe down. I'm sure a machine-washable DIY chair pad could be made, we just never had the need.
Also, the price can't be beat!

Can't offer much regarding the Inglesina, other than it looks lovely, but I'll third the Ikea recommendations. I think it's actually called the Antilop. Small footprint, miniscule price tag, and easy to clean. It's not useful for a child under 6 months old due to the lack of support (this appears to be the case with the Inglesina as well), but I never had a need for a highchair when my kids were younger than 6 months anyway...

I'll fourth the ikea antilop - our 2 1/2 year old has used it since he was able to sit - it's easy to clean, easy to travel with, looks modern, and is cheap!

I'm a mom of three. For our first kid, we had a big old highchair. For our second, a booster that strapped onto a chair, with a tray. And for the third, the Phil and Ted's hook-on chair that attaches to the table. See the minimizing trend? :) We just realized that for one thing, we didn't want a huge high chair tripping us up in the kitchen, and for another thing, our kids really wanted to sit right up to the table and eat with us anyway. Not that you always all sit down together for every single meal, but eating is a pretty social experience besides being a necessity, and our kids are happier right up in the action. That's my 2 (or 10!) cents...

we used the antilop through 2 children and lots of guests -- for about $20, it's a great deal.
Really, minimize as much as you can. The Phil & Ted concept, a booster seat, or the TrippTrapp are good options; this inglesina will get maybe 6 months of use, and will then be relegated to storage. Not worth the $120.
You need less stuff than you have been lead to believe...

I didn't listen to all the people who said don't buy a highchair. I wish I had....waste of money/time/space. My son sat in it for maybe four months before he did the dreaded "screaming and arching of the back move" every time I tried to put him in it. He is a big fan of the Fisher Price Healthy Booster chair. It sits on a normal chair. I am not the biggest fan of the design but he likes sitting in it.
But if you really want a highchair, I would go with the Ikea one that others mentioned. So if your child ends up hating it you only paid $20 instead of $250 like me.

The most important high chair features, ranked in order of importance:
1. easy to clean, with no cracks or crevices around tray or in chair pad
2. tray that can be removed/adjusted with one hand
3. seat that keeps baby sitting upright and close to the tray, so less food goes in the lap
4. between-the-legs barrier so baby can't "submarine" out
5. easy to kick around the kitchen when your arms are full
secondary features:
1. tray can go in the dishwasher
2. chair can be scooted up to the table when tray is removed
3. 5-pt harness (three is OK for seats that don't recline or babies that don't do gymnastics)
4. Foot rest. Older babies/toddlers will sit longer if their feet aren't dangling
We use a booster with tray when we go to friend's homes. I prefer a high chair b/c you can usually adjust the seat and/or tray height. With a booster, as the baby gets bigger the tray will get further from their mouth, which means more mess. I don't like feeding an infant at the table, as in a hanging chair,...ergonomically it's much nicer to be able to sit directly in front and up close.

I just bought this highchair and I am going to return it because you cannot remove the tray with one hand!!!! I am not a first time mom and should have known better. It is a nice looking high chair but the seat seems small and I can imagine that my girl will out grow this in 6 months (she is 6 months now). The review that said it was compact (true) and I like the design. But I never should have bought it without seeing it first.

Wow thanks so much everyone! I will definitely switch to the IKEA chair! I had no idea it even exisisted and it's exactly what we want. The main thing is having something that isn't bulky and can be pulled up to the table. And it doesn't hurt that it matches the Snille chairs we already use at the table!

we have the ikea one, that looks very, similar mentioned in many of the posts- only downside is the tray is almost impossible to remove so keep that in mind. otherwise it's a great little chair...
good luck!

We are also ikea highchair fans! it's so easy to clean and transport. we even just took it camping (which i wouldn't dream of doing with an expensive, heavy, wood high chair) and it still looks brand new. without the tray it slids up nice to the table if your little one likes to join the party. ikea sells a padded insert that you blow up like a pool toy! we used the from ages 6-9 months with our daughter and after that she seemed fine w/o it.
