Bridgett sent us an email: "I've been searching for a cool baby memory book, not dedicated to a boy or girl ('cause I ain't gots no clue what's baking inside me), that's AFFORDABLE. I love the Binth Baby Book but it's $110. Who has that kind of money?"
Great question, Bridgett! We all want to remember our baby's every moment, but paying too much for a baby book will only have us remembering how much we spent.

We're big fans of Baby's First Year Calendar published by the Metropolitan Museum of Art. We got it as a gift. It has very few prompts so you can really get creative with entries.

Check out the 1,000 Days Journal or try a diy Kolo album. (See previous post: http://nursery.apartmenttherapy.com/nursery/good-questions/good-questions-baby-journal-022279)

I second Janie's recommendation of Nikki McClure's The First 1000 Days: A Baby Journal and at $12 you can't go wrong.
Good luck & have fun!!

I wholeheartedly third the suggestion of Nikki McClure's First 1000 days. If you check back to the previous post that Janie links to, you'll see that I have a whole bunch of baby books (including the Binth), but The First 1000 Days is my favourite, irrespective of cost.

Well, I shelled out 100 for a baby book. "The Story of Me".
They aren't all that expensive though. "The Story of Me" is customizable to add inserts specific to your situation. In my case, I added the Adoption Pack, the general blank page expansion pack, page protectors for each page, and a very cute fabric nursery rhyme cover.
I wanted something that could handle adoption information, and was very disappointed in the baby books that included adoption information. Initially, I was even disappointed in "The Story of Me" as well because it doesn't account for the birthfather, only the birthmother. We ended up in an adoption where very little is known about the birthfather, (first name only) so this is the one I ordered.

I can cover any bound book with fabrics of your choice. They can coordinate to the nursery-to-be fabrics.Actually the left over scraps can be used to make a collage effect. Then this is really a memory book because you immortalize the nursery too. see: www.charmandwhimsy.com
