We've never looked into this because we don't have a yard. If we did, we would go for something like the geodisc interlocking playground set by Gregg Fleishman (pic above). Pair it with this seesaw we slinked to and you'll have the coolest yard in town.
Heon offers something more traditional, but well-constructed. The combination shown here is $1800 but many more configurations are available. Lastly, if you have no budget constraints, consider this playshed for your young modernist.
Does anyone have other ideas or recommendations for Kate? If you have pictures, please share.
