Good Questions: Non-Toxic Sealer for Picnic Table?

picnic062509.jpgIsabelle sent in a good question: I have a wood picnic table (kid size) and would like to protect against the weather. Can anyone recommend good non toxic sealer or wood protector ? It's going to be outside in the snow in the winter (I'm in Montreal, QC Canada).

Is the table cedar? If so, just let it age and weather on it's own. It will turn a silver color, but the cedar oils in the wood help to preserve it without having to add anything else.
