Something along the lines of the PBkids "Anywhere Chair" or Land of Nod "Nod Chair," but not so "country."
I like Ligne Roset's Baby Togo, but too pricey. Any ideas?

Well, the truth is most of the toddlers we see aren't sitting very much, but it's always nice to give them the option. We certainly do see that Pottery Barn chair in quite a few households, but there are a few other nice options.
We've blogged about the Ava Toddler Chair before. It's a nice option if you're looking for something a bit more modern, but...not cheap. The Cubino Chair is another more modernized version of the soft chair. Another slightly different option are the poofs from Zid Zid kids.
Anyone?
Room and Board has some nice chairs. There is one that looks like a traditional toddler chair in nice colors: http://www.roomandboard.com/rnb/collection.do?method=get&id=4107169&cat=42
we got their Bianco chair for our daughter's room: http://www.roomandboard.com/rnb/collection.do?method=get&id=378108&cat=26
while it's not a child's chair, the seat is quite low and easy for her to climb onto. We did it in the stock fabric--that gorgeous raspberry velvet--and she oohed "pretty chair" when it came in.

We loved the togo kid's version too, and balked at the price... The thing I don't get, is that the togo line is perfectly-sized for kids in its regular incarnation -- that is why I bought it in the first place.
Actually, getting a regular-sized chair that is designed low to the ground and comfortable would be my approach, instead of getting a kid's chair. They are cute, but grow out of them so quickly. (my husband keeps looking for them though!) Either Togo or a really cool bean bag chair, like the one by Maison de Vacance, the pouf bulle, in either metallicized leather or the long-haired version:

My son had the "anywhere chair" from PBkids, and be warned . . . it doesn't take much abuse. It lasted for about a year, before it was completely trashed from his climbing and crawling all over it!
If I had to do it over again, I wish I'd bought something a little pricier that would have been more durable.
After the Anywhere Chair, I got him a beanbag from CB2 . . . and that lasted about a year, too, before it started looking really trashed.
Now that I think about it, maybe my kid is just really hard on furniture! Oh well . . . better the bean bag chair than my couch, right?
