Seat Cushions for Kid Size Chairs?
Good Questions

tablesm081409.jpgQ: I just bought this white table and chairs for my toddler daughter. (larger pic below the jump) I'm looking for little seat cushions that would fit on these 11.5" square chairs. I can't find anything, except for larger ones from Land of Nod. Any suggestions!!?

It probably wouldn't cost too much to have someone make you cushions for these chairs... they are so small, and they would require very little fabric. If you're crafty it wouldn't be hard to do yourself!

You could also try this place... it looks like they can make a custom 11 x 11 cushion (in Sunbrella, durable outdoor fabric in a variety of colors) for about $15!

etsy has a section called alchemy... "buyers can post requests for custom handmade items, and then sellers bid on the opportunity to make the goods."
i've yet to try it but it sounds like a good option to consider. you could get the PERFECT cushions rather than settling for what is manufactured :)

I second trying etsy or checking on cost for custom cushions at your local fabric store (or post a notice at a yarn shop or fabric store - someone may respond and then you are supporting both handmade AND local artisans).

And where is the table from? Thanks.

This is actually a great DIY project. You can go to a craft store and buy what you need then sew up the cushions. If you don't sew, you can get that iron-on tape that basically seals edges.

I second trying Alchemy on Etsy--my husband had a gorgeous pendant made for me via Alchemy. It was in honor of our daughter's birth. He said what he wanted it made out of, suggested some decorative elements, and got a bunch of replies. And that was for a piece of fine jewelry, so I'm sure you'd get a lot of responses for such a simple sewing project. Good luck!

Cushions are going to leave little room for the kids to fit their legs under the table.

I agree with kelley- I also think of the cushions sliding around making it difficult for little tushies to stay stable. If I were going to do this, I'd have them custom made with some kind of elastic that hugs the rim of the seat all around.

Lots of people like the Ikea seat cushions for kids chairs--they velcro right on and come in a few colors and animal/sea animal styles (crab, kitty cat, frog prince)
Your table looks similar to one from Ikea so they should fit.
