We're long-time fans of Plan Toys and their extensive line of environmentally friendly, ethically manufactured toys. The new Eco Home, in addition to being an awesome little play house, also models earth-friendly living with solar panels, a living roof, and the cutest little wind turbines you've ever seen. There's even a grey water tank, which, well, is a little weird, but hey, that's verisimilitude for you.
The Eco Home is made of sustainably harvested solid rubberwood and finished with non-toxic paints and finishes. The set includes two little people, furniture for two rooms and - of course - an electric scooter, no doubt so that the inhabitants can whiz into Plan City and petition the mayor to plant an urban garden on the lawn of city hall.

This is totally cute, but (as a childless person), do kids really like to play with toys like this? It seems like every person I know with kids has a room full of noise-making, battery-operated, plastic toys from China.

It took a while for my 5 year and 2 year to show interest in their doll house. Honestly, the prefer the noisy electronic toys.

play some classical baby music in the background - they love that.

Cal - yeah most kids do if that's what you introduce to them. We only have a few noisy toys, but my 17 month old prefers to play with her blocks, tent, animals and her tea set. If you give them the opportunity, their imagination blooms real early :) I think she would loove to have those toys above. She might not really understand them exactly yet, but it's a toy she can grow into.
