Make It! is a fun book for the summer. Next time they're restless, your kids can learn how to make junk mail paper-mache, or a pillow made from bubble wrap and leftover wrappers and colorful odds and ends.

We really like the idea behind this book because not only is it encouraging less consumption, but it's encouraging creativity. Real creativity comes from taking ordinary things and creating, not just buying toys and other accessories that make you feel "artsy."
