Green Ideas: Plastic Bag Dryer

070109bagdryer.jpgEven if you're trying to use mostly reusable bags, chances are sandwich bags still come in handy- especially for snacks and traveling with the kids this summer. Is it gross to recycle them? We're pretty sure it depends on what they contained and how many times they're recycled. Apparently you can save $100 if you reuse each bag 30 times!

We usually use ours again if they were holding something dry- like bagels or bread. We usually don't bother washing them if they've had tomatoes or something with true slime potential.

But this little guy can be used to hold 8 bags at a time, and it folds for storage- making washing those bags and drying them a little bit easier.

There are a LOT of etsy sellers with reusable sandwich and snack bags, designed in different ways and with cute prints. They're not expensive ($5-$15), so you can buy a few, and wipe them down when necessary.

I actually bought one for myself in an Amy Butler fabric to bring my sandwich to work. :p

I made my own with a glass jar, some cool stones I found at the beach, and several sets of chopsticks.
