The room isn't as large as it appears, only 11' x 12' so she decided to make two built-in components to maximize some awkward nooks. One is a full-sized loft daybed overhead an enclosed ship-themed playhouse (top photo) and the other (below) is a set of overhead storage cubies above a bench and wall hooks.

Eco-friendly elements include cork flooring, low-VOC paints (Benjamin Moore's Aura line) and craft and gardening tables made from a felled maple tree from her yard.

Erica-Lynn describes some details around the room: modern bird wall stencils from Target, Thomas Paul melamine plates, a garden hutch and caddy as well as Martha Stewart Nantucket baskets from K-Mart for storage, Marimekko fabric window treatments and floor pillows, a John Derian flower platter, and Jonathan Adler and Cath Kidston throw pillows. The rug is Dash & Albert - a great company that makes totally affordable all-cotton woven rugs in all sizes and really great color stripes.
