Now Available! Burlap Basket Patterns at Maya*Made

070609-maya-baskets-pdf.jpgAs any Maya*Made fan knows, Maya's gorgeous burlap baskets are hot-ticket items, usually disappearing from her Etsy shop within hours of being listed. For all you DIY types, Maya is now making available her custom pattern for these sought-after carryalls. Best of all? She says that this project is suitable for beginner sewers.

With your order, you'll get step-by-step instructions for making medium (7"x71/2") and large (9"x91/2") buckets. The instructions also come with color photos, tips on burlap care, and even online support if you run into a snag.

$7 for both patterns at Maya*Made

I use salvaged coffee sacks from my local coffee roaster. They are often only a dollar or two... sometimes even free! I shared directions in the pattern for how to deconstruct the sacks. Have fun!

I love the Maya made web site I look at it just about as much as I look at the AT sites.

I love Etsy and shop there for pretty much every gift ever. But sometimes even $7 may be too much for someone on a really tight budget. For those people, here is a link to a tutorial for a similar bag (also great for beginners, and has pictures).
