Prudent Baby Makes Pretty Placeholders

Over at Prudent Baby, they've been busy making these repurposed baby-food jar soy candles. Sure they're great as just a candle, but during party time, they'll be pulling double duty as place cards. Click on through for more on what you'll need to make your own.

To make candles of your own, you'll need pre-waxed wicks with clips and meltable soy-wax, which can both be found at your local craft stores. Try changing up the scents by using oils found around your home, especially in your kitchen. These were made with coconut oil (yum!) although we're pretty sure you could find one that best goes with your holiday table (or try using the oil from an inexpensive reed diffuser). You can check out the full tutorial here.

If you're not into fire on your dinner table (and we don't blame you with kids around) try adding a sprig of leaves or even just fill it with some grass from the backyard to make the jars come to life again!

Thanks Prudent Baby!

Over at Prudent Baby, they also stocked up on the Orla Kiely linens from Target. I'm jealous!

(I just got two sturdy placemats, but I wish I had gotten a runner or tablecloth.)

Now I'm really disappointed that I didn't save any baby food jars! I recycled them, but still...I keep coming up with cool ideas for them. Maybe next time around.
