Rubbermaid Products: BPA status

2008-05-05-rubbermaid.jpg

BPA (bisphenol-a) has been all over the news lately and much of the attention has been focused on its presence or absence in children's bottles and toys. We were washing a Rubbermaid pitcher last night and started to wonder whether it and other plastic kitchen products we own contained BPA.

Many companies (not to mention the FDA) continue to defend the safety of BPA, yet acknowledge consumers' concerns about it. In this vein, we were pleased to find clear information (and visual references) on Rubbermaid's website about which of their products contain BPA and which do not.

If you own a bunch of Rubbermaid products the good news is that most are BPA free. If you want to be sure, visit their site to see photos and names of their products along with their BPA status.
