We all have areas of green living that we're particularly diligent about (in our case, recycling) and then there are areas that we're kind of slackers at. Showering happens to be our vice. Long, hot showers to be precise.

How long? We're not really sure as we don't keep a clock in the bathroom and, frankly, prefer it that way.
We were perusing the Envirosax website recently and saw that they are giving away a free shower timer with every pouch of their reusable bags. They also have this "Water Wisdom" to offer:
If you're already stocked up on reusable bags, you can purchase one of their 4-minute shower timers for $3. Or, you probably have a timer kicking around in your board game collection (Yahtzee anyone?) you can use or how about a kitchen timer?
Does your family time their showers?
My timer's name is Nikolay. My shower is timed to fit between the time that I put him in his play gym and the time he gets bored/stuck reaching for some toy. This timer is a bit of a custom order, but I hear that there are a variety of models out there.

I bought a kitchen timer for my son (around $3 at a discount store), because he has a tendency of just standing under the water and not getting soaped up.
The one I bought has large numbers so he can see just how much time he has left.
When the timer goes off, its time to get out, no excuses.

We don't time our showers. I make other sacrifices for the sake of the environment, but I just can't get myself cleaned in 4 minutes! Not to mention I'm a really anxious person and timing myself in the shower would probably stress me out to no end.
