The MeasureMe Stick

The MeasureMe stick is the latest project from Studio 1a.m. and is a fabulous updated and graphic twist on the traditional growth chart, while transforming the traditional ruler — into a playful, modern object. Details on this 7ft wooden ruler after the jump.

Although we think this piece could simply be hung on your wall as an artistic display, you could of course mark your children's height on it as they grow. The markings won't detract from it's bold, graphic appeal and would be a great way to permanently keep track of the years gone by.

Each MeasureMe stick hangs via stainless steel pegs that are included in the $120 price tag, which although is higher than a basic yard stick from your hardware store, is well within reach for a piece that is built to last, child after child. It's available in 3 different color ways, hit up the Studio 1a.m. website for more details and to see if there's a store near you (incase you're not into online ordering).

I love this. I think this is a DIY candidate at $120, boy is that a lot of money. But I love the yellow color one. I love it.

This would be a fantastically easy DIY needing very few parts and likely very few $$... this is a ridiculous price for such basic item.

How would you do this on your own. I know you could buy a piece of would and paint it, but then would you hand draw the increments?

It's really cool and I think I'll make one myself, can't believe I never thought of making one with wood. But I can't imagine spending $120 on that!
