Cady just turned three and Diane writes: Dear Cady, Thank you for your excellent help today watering the flowers in the yard. I do not think it was for modesty that they turned their heads away when you stripped down and sat in the bucket. Thank you for your help with the hose and the spade; the garden is always more interesting after you've visited....

Thank you for the invigorating drawing and painting this morning; I do believe we should modify our bodies as we desire. Thank you also for your wondrous storytelling after lunchtime; eventually you can drive all your friends to the park for a picnic, but I'm locking the car keys tonight just in case. Thank you for the help you give in the kitchen: washing dishes and making sure I scrub the floors, at least in front of the sink. And thank you for your bedtime snuggles, your warm forehead against my cheek. Every day I think I cannot feel more love for you, and each new morning I learn there is more than I ever guessed or hoped.
