Back in April we highlighted Jim and Kari's
kids' backyard stage, as one of our favorite parts of their
Evanston house tour. Their son's room is also a lesson is stylish restraint for kids. It's simple and playful, including the following details, close up:
This is a fabulous room. I love balance of the clean modern lines and the vintage charm; it's not sterile or overlyfussy. I also love that it's a boy's room that does not shout "I am a BOY room!" The room is calming and uncluttered but welcoming and comfortable. While embracing great design, it clearly looks lived in (and loved).
P.S. Envy the puzzle stacker immensely!

And the room!

I love the puzzle stacker also. I wonder if that's what it was originally...if not, what was it? I also adore the vintage animals, I have several of those deer for a Christmas display.

The puzzle stacker is available through educational supply stores like Lakeshore Learning.

Great room - love all the books, the cool chair, and especially the planet mobile (on my list for my son.) We have the same fire truck (I don't like it but my son begged his dad for it and loves it) and similar digger. :-)
