Circle Arm High Chair and Child's Chair by Christopher Kurtz

When we spotted this gorgeous high chair at ATNY we must have looked like a cartoon character whose eyes pop out of their head on springs at the excitement. It's been awhile since we saw a high chair design as unique as this. It doesn't convert into three other pieces of furniture or turn upside down, but it is certainly design forward.

New AT Boston blogger Jeanine spent an afternoon at the upstate NY studio of Christopher Kurtz and a trip to her post about his adult furniture is worth your time.

We also found more information on the Australian blog Babyology who learned that Chris Kurtz's interest in creating furniture for children was inspired by his one-year old daughter. In addition to the high chair he has also incorporated the circle motif into a child's chair. Babyology has more specifics on the materials and construction of both chairs. They report that the high chair will sell in the neighborhood of $1,500 (did your eyes just do that cartoony thing?) and the child's chair will cost $400 (a bit more for maple wood).
