Henry IV High Chair

sibihenryiv-highchair.jpg
The fine folks over at Sibi have done it again. The collaboration between Sirch and Bitzer has now produced the Henry IV High Chair -- a convertible high chair that grows with your child. We love how the lines of the Henry IV remind us of a barber's chair, only much cooler and practical.

Like all Sibi products, the Henry IV is handmade in Bavaria and it includes a table tray, strap and cushion. The base is made of powder-coated steel and the seat is made of vanished birch.

This chair will be an addition to your home that has staying power as it converts into a regular chair when your babe has outgrown it. Nice!

Is this copy just cut and pasted from their PR materials? Doesn't ohdeedoh (and AT) aim higher than just being a shill for $1,350 high chairs? Can't you even make a joke about the fact that it's a $1,350 high chair? (Which is not to say it's not gorgeous -- it is.)

My kid would hate this chair. He is only 21 months old, but he loves being able to scramble into his seat on his own (which is one of our dining chairs with a booster on it); it makes him feel like such a big boy. This chair does not look like it would be very easy to scramble into.

It's pretty at first glance, but a high chair needs decent back support. Not to mention harnesses!

Tell the fine folks at Sibi that good design requires safety and comfort, not just clean lines. No parent in their right mind would buy this.

Where's the love?
I do see the same problem as phoneill on this, it looks like it could easily tumble over if the kid tries to get in him/herself. But not so much on the chair needs back support, harness, etc. It's not a chair for long-term seating, and not all kids need harnesses.

Hi guys, we like to show an array of products that are out there. Some are pricey, some are not -- we just like to show you what's available in all areas. Some of it isn't everyone's cup of tea. Cheers!
