When I was at Ikea about two weeks ago to buy a highchair I saw one. At first I thought it looked awesome, but on further inspection realized that it was extremely bulky and the base took up so much space.

Seeing the Leopard next to the Antilop made me decide on the latter. The Antilop looks more streamlined and practical in my opinion.

We have an Antilop and I can see how this might be a more tempting buy. The design loosely resembles the Svan or Tripp Trapp high chairs and I like that there is a footrest for tiny feet, which is missing in the Antilop. Also, the Antilop looks compact but since the legs angle outwards it does have a considerable foorprint.

I saw them at the Bolingbrook, IL IKEA yesterday. Cute, but a bit too space-agey for me.

Nah, the Antilop is awesome (and its base is way less than any other high chair I've found). I'll stick with that.

Oooh, much better than the Antilop - the Antilop has no foot rest and the way the legs stick out means it takes up loads of room and is oftern wobbly - this one looks like it would be really stable - and it would be so cool in black!

I love this, we have an Antilop we saved from my son (now 3) but I think once my daughter is ready (due next month) I may have to head down to Ikea for this one.

I saw this yesterday at an Ikea store in Australia - it is also not on the Ikea Aus website.

I wasn't a fan.

Saw it today - loved the way it looked. Seemed pretty sturdy as well.

I work at IKEA (Vancouver, BC, Canada) and we just got this in this morning (Nov. 4, 2009) and I was the first one to see it. I usually don't stock the shelves (I'm a forklift driver) but this morning we were so short that drivers were stocking shelves.

I think it's meant to be that I saw this because we're actually looking for a highchair and we were decided to go with this $250 highchair from PegPerego. We were going to buy it.

Needless to say that we didn't get PegPerego. We bought this one and I seriously think this is better than those expensive highchairs. With this I feel more secure because it's all one piece and it's hard plastic. No legs will break. I really like the fact that it's round base. And the seat belt. The seat belt is cool because it's holding the baby's thighs and not around the belly. That way, the baby can't stand up and eventually fall.

I have pictures here: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v399/intoksicated/leopard/

My baby was so happy. We're very happy too!

I went down to the local Ikea (Seattle) yesterday ready to buy the Antilop for my soon to be high chair baby. I spotted this and was so enamored. I think it's aesthetically much more pleasing, its footprint is smaller (hello!) and it's more stable! It also keeps the wipe and go ease of the Antilop. Sold! My little guy is already loving it, both with and without the tray. My only concern would be the size of the seat. It seems like it may be snug the older he gets. Well worth the money, still.

Is this the one that was recalled due to collapsing seat??

"Snap locks that secure the seat to the frame can break, making it possible for the seat to drop through the frame," the statement said. "Children can suffer injury to the head and other parts of the body from falls. Detached snap locks pose a choking hazard to children."
