Name: “The Peach" (18 months)
Location: Alameda, CA
Room Size: 10' x 10'

Leslie has loved vintage goods all her life and is an inveterate thrifter. So it only makes sense that her daughter's bedroom would be the beneficiary of these years of collecting and honing her vintage style. "The Peach's" room is like stepping back in time and also honors older family members by including items that belonged to them as well as things from Leslie's own childhood. Leslie tells us more about the details and touches in her daughter's bedroom and passes on some tips for bringing a little bit of the past to your present home.

Name: Elijah & Tuli Dastrup
Age: 5 & 3
Location: Kansas City, Missouri

A few months ago we had a chance to tour the home of Crissy and Justin Dastrup. They have an old Four-Square style home that's quite full of personality and fun design choices. It's a 3 story home and the children have bedrooms on the second and third floors. There might be only 2 kids, but there's five beds and although you've seen bits and pieces, we'd like to show you the whole thing!

Penelope's Pearl of a Room
Kids Room Tour

2010-08-penelope1.JPG

Name: Penelope Pearl
Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Room Size: 8'x10'

If Melissa were describing her daughter's room to us over the phone ("tan walls and carpet") we admit we might have yawned. But - wow - she livened up this room so smartly that we don't even miss colorful wall paint. Adding a vivid orange area rug over neutral carpeting brings this room awake and alive. And, hello!, the contact paper ceiling border makes this wholly delightful room even more memorable.

Graham's Fabric Fabulous Nursery
Nursery Tour

2010-07-bline_sm1.jpgName: Graham
Age: 7 weeks
Location: Michigan
Room size: 10'x10'

At first glance you might not guess that this creative, colorful space is primarily a mix of Ikea and diy projects, but it's true. Amy and her husband Andy transformed a guest bedroom into a bright, perky, modern space for their newborn son, Graham, and we're entranced by the results. They put their signature stamp on his nursery by sprinkling it with interesting artwork and, most notably, a bevy of beautiful fabrics most of which Amy designed herself using Spoonflower.

Noah's Sunshine Nursery
Nursery Tour

weinroth1.jpg

Name: Noah
Age: 7 weeks
Location: Ponte Vedra Beach, FL
Room Size: 12x10

Noah's room is a beautiful contrast of cool blue sky tones and warm sunny yellows. His mom, Susan Weinroth, waited to find out if she was having a boy or girl, and designed a room that would work for either. She started with a few pieces handed down from her first son's nursery, and really made this room a stand-out with sweet, handmade accessories. Inspired by nursery tours she'd seen here at Ohdeedoh, Susan created a cheerful summery space for her baby (a boy!) that we know will in turn inspire others.

Dylan's Woodland Nursery
Nursery Tour

2010-06-dylan_sm1.jpg

Name: Dylan Turner
Age: 9 months
Location: Canal-side in Lambertville, NJ
Room size: 8x10

Dylan's woodland "egg" room is a perfect example of creating a baby's nursery that matches the overall look and feel of your home. Kara transformed a guest room into a stimulating space for Dylan without "wiping the slate clean" and instead kept her favorite elements and added new ones to make it more child-friendly. The sweet woodland accents are sophisticated enough for adult tastes, but together lend an air of enchantment to this special room that any child would love to live in. Kara tells us about putting this room together and gives advice for changing a guest room into a nursery.

Osianna's Modern Baby Nursery
Nursery Tour

2010-07-osianna1_sm.jpg

Name: Osianna Olivia (O-sea-anna with soft 'A's')
Age: Osianna will be joining our family at the end of July
Location: Asheville, NC
Room size: 9' x 9'

For her first daughter, Jesseca created the kind of room that many of us strive for: fresh, modern and well-edited. She was able to build a cohesive feeling with color and sensibility without relying on a theme as well as keep the room minimalist while still infusing it with personality and a point of view. For us, it represents the "new feminine" - soft, but strong; pretty, but practical; elegant without an ounce of fussiness.

Nursery Number Two
Guest Post from Designer Paige Rien

My task was simple, or so it seemed: create a chic, boyish nursery for my second baby. It should’ve been easy – I’ve been designing and decorating kids’ rooms and nurseries for years – well before I had my first child and fully understood what and who they were for: the parents. I’ve researched and reviewed baby and kids’ furniture – I know what’s out there but more importantly, I know what I like.

Names: Anna, Natalie (preschooler) & Emily (toddler)
Location: Wisconsin
Room size:12' x 12'

It's a very common scenario for parents to give up a room or part of a room that they had formerly used for work or creative pursuits to accommodate children, but Anna shows us that a very happy compromise can be to share space for these activities with your children. Indeed, she shares this lovely space with her daughters where all occupants are free to pursue the things that make them happy be it coloring with crayons or sewing up pillows.
