Hot or Not? Baby Planet Endangered Species Strollers

2008-05-09-endangered2.jpg

Baby Planet has teamed up with the Wildlife Conservation Society to raise consciousness of endangered animals through their Endangered Species line of strollers. They've chosen four animals to highlight: the monarch butterfly, the snow leopard, the tiger and the lemur leaf frog. Baby Planet has pledged a $5 donation to WCS for each stroller sold in addition to a company cash contribution.

Whether or not you're an animal lover, what do you think of the strollers?

$5 seems really paltry to me, and how about the materials? If they are going to be animal/earth friendly, I would expect they would be using recycled materials at a minimum, too.

Say it ain't so! Can you really slap a picture of an endangered species on a made in China stroller, give $5 to a charity and claim that you are making some kind of a difference in the world?
Wow, has it really gotten this bad?

Ummm...better than all the other strollers where NO money is given to charity, right? Every little counts :)

Wow, for all the wonderfully positive commenteers above...so critical of a company who's trying to do "something" rather than nothing like most other companies in the world. What do you want? For them to send their only child to fix the make miracles and save the animals personally? Did you ever look into the company further and see that they are recycling their strollers and helping to get reusable baby products to charities in the U.S. How about a little compassion for a someone who's trying to do something good. They may not be saving the world, but they seem to be trying to do their part. Perhaps support and non-judgment would help encourage companies to do more! Chill out!
