Not. Breastfeeding is natural and wonderful and all that but this is just plain WEIRD.

I am a *huge* breastfeeding advocate, and I find this totally creepy. I think it is great when kiddos nurse their dollies (was superimpressed when my son was nursing his), but they don't need a special floral top for it nor do they need a special doll.

Also...strange that the bfing doll comes with a pacifier in her hand. She's going to develop nipple confusion!

And they named the baby glutton. Nice.

Yeah, I don't know. I'm pro-breastfeeding and all, but something just seems "off" about this. Can't quite put my finger on it, but I just don't like it. I think it might be the "special top". Do the flowers activate some sort of feeding sounds??
And I thought Baby Alive was creepy...

I am all about anything that promotes breastfeeding and I think it's great that this doll does NOT come with a bottle as most do.
But it is a little odd. I wouldn't buy it or anything. You don't need any special tops to breastfeed afterall. :)

nothing wrong with breastfeeding, but this really is just weird.

not. i'm pro-breastfeeding as well. but this is creepy. i wouldn't want my daughter playing with this doll in the park and some perv getting the wrong idea... and i agree. you don't need a special top to bf in the first place.

I completely agree with katiecupcake...there are already weirdos out that that sexualize ACTUAL breastfeeding, let alone a child pretending to breastfeed. I guess I understand the educational value (?) of this, but we don't have sex-reenactment toys to teach children about the birds and the bees, do we?

Whether this doll shows that breastfeeding is the best way to go or not is irrelevant, in my opinion. The fact that we're coding little girls to be mothers from such a young age is appalling. Girls need to grow up to make the decision on their own to be mothers and to breastfeed should they decide to do so. It's one thing to play with dolls - when I grew up, my Barbies slept next to my Star Wars figures - but when we're over-emphasizing reproductive abilities in little girls, it's gone too far. This is just one further step in the "Be Like Mommy" line of toys, which always focuses on taking care of children, grocery shopping, and cleaning. Many new *adult* mothers have enough pressure to breastfeed and adding that coded expectation in a 5 year old is awful.

someones got a fetish... maybe. this is odd.

IMAGINATION will suffice. A child does not need a "special" doll, flower top, or dumb toy to pretend to nurse.

Um, I too believe in breastfeeding. Have kids that pretend nurse their dolls (and their trains and their books for that matter). But this is just freaky in my opinion. I mean, if you want to have the doll making burping noises or even nursing sounds at the push of a button, then that *might* be fine. But the strap on accessory nipples? That's the line right there, and they've crossed it.

I'm indifferent. I don't think that top looks creepy. Maybe if they had painted boobs and nipples on it...

people from spain arent nearly as up tight as us americans. i think that for spain this is fine. for US we would freak out and over react like most topics. as for it being flowers, thats what our neighbor girls call there nipples. its funny and sweet.

this is so disturbing. kids already have their own imagination, we don't need to promote it with this creepy toy!

I can't believe someone is comparing pretend breastfeeding with sex reenactment. Seriously?
By the way, "gloton" is a term of endearment in Spain.

Hello, I'm from Spain :) still breastfeeding my 2 years and a half girl, and I agree this doll is so freaky; my little girl breastfeeds her dolls and teddies and she doesn't need to wear special t-shirts...

why not! it's an interesting idea. i've gone past a year with my daughter too. not a bad idea.

LOL...maybe I'll get one for my husband. He's totally jealous of me getting to feed the baby. I could get one for him to use while I feed our little guy and he'll feel better. ::hah!::

I think it is great! My 35mo old daughter (who is nursing) constantly goes around nursing her dolls. She has a doll that pees and poops, what is wrong with one that nurses? I actually would love to buy one. It is neater at least! I don't get and am rather disturbed by people likening this to sex, even that it is a controversy. My kids know exactly what erectile dysfunction is, thanks to TV, they see ghastly fake boobs in the media all the time...not to even start on violence of video games, movies etc....and we're worried about a nursing doll, come on!
view mgould951's profile
I think it's ridiculous how people can be so judgmental about something that is natural. Children mimic what their role models do, in this case, caring for their babies. What about the dolls out there that are life-like and actually pee and poo, or better yet, what about parents who freely cuss and behave inappropriately in front or their children???!! Society! Screw society. I'm not raising my kids by what society dictates b/c society is no where near about family values, but rather what the media and whomever drums up this nonsense thinks. I'm talking about good old fashioned family values that you will find nowhere in the media. Let's get back to what's important people, and quit worrying about what others think. This is a phase in children that will go away, just like little boys playing with dolls or girls playing with trucks. Seriously!

I think it's lovely. Better than most dolls, with their weird mouths shaped for bottles.
My kids both lifted their shirts and put their dolls to their chests to nurse them when they were little. it's not sick or weird and it's not going to make them get pregnant earlier or do any other type of psychological damage. It's called imaginative play and it's an important part of their development.
Those who think it's sick need to re-examine their attitudes toward the how the human body was designed. Breasts are for nursing babies. There's nothing dirty about that.

Close, but no cigar.
Or boobie, as the case may be....
view TheReignofEllen's profile
Oooh, boobies. Funny that they're so controversial! And yet.. flowery strap-ons?
Personally, I think the top is a little silly an I'm not into the whole package aesthetically--but it's not offending me. My 5 year-old daughter, a long-time "nurser" of many "babies", would likely find it unnecessary. She, like her mother, isn't into ephemera. However, I suspect that my 2 year-old son, who "nurses" his tiger and his sock monkey fairly regularly, would dig the outfit, flower nipples and all. Just more pretend play, you know? He would enjoy yet another dress-up opportunity, the same way he enjoys fairy wings and tutus from time to time. And creatively embellishing a nipple? Even better.
In fact, here's a conversation I had with him last week: He asked, Mommy, which do you like more, red nipples or white (we are caucasian) boobies? I told him both were fine, but what did he think? He said, Oh, boobies are better. EVERYONE has nipples.

Bebe Gloton ( the doll that imitates breastfeeding) is on sale on eBay and Amazon
view chuchi's profile
BEBE GLOTON ( the breastfeeding doll) is adorable and yes your daughter will be very happy to have one and you will love it. Right now is only available on eBay and there are only a few left. It was also on sale on Amazon but the distributor in the USA only started selling on Amazon a couple of months ago and to be able to sell toys on Amazon for the Christmas season you have to have about 25 sales and he only had like 18 , so it is not available there until after Christmas but on ebay it is not problem or you can just email him at garamchai1@aol.com and pay by check, money order or pay pal. If you buy directly from him you can get it for $105 including shipping in the USA
