I think this is hilarious. I love Hello Kitty, but I think this might even be too much for me. Even though I think boys can play with dolls and all that I would feel awful if I had my son in the pinker-than-pink Hello Kitty Hospital.

Wow...my Hello Kitty loving much younger sister would love this, but this just feels like you're giving birth in an ad for Hello Kitty and/or a tweener's bedroom. Way too commercial for me and kind of weird - becoming a mom shouldn't involve regressing into a kid yourself at the hospital.

Too commercial, I think. I mean, it's kinda cute, in a creepy way, but no. Plus, the thought of those hello kitty sheets covered in blood and other bodily fluids just seems a bit wrong....

I was and forever will be a Hello Kitty fan, so I could hardly find this setup offensive, but I do wish there were more color variation. It would not hurt to have more yellow, green, and blue around.

Yeah, and when it effin' hurts in active labor, guess what? I'm swearing like a sailor and acting like a kid.

pink or not pink, what's most awful is all these babies so alone, where are their mothers? why are they kept away like this? Thought this was a practice from the past, but can see that is still in vogue...

no offense belel, but i put my newborn in the nursery the first night she was born and had the nurses bring her to me for nursing. being in labor for over 40 hours, i really needed the rest so that i could take care of us both! anyway, i love hello kitty and so does my daughter now :) i find this to be wicked awesome!

it's a nice and comfortable looking hospital, very welcoming... but hello kitty (or any other theme) seems to be too much for a hospital, or maybe we just think in stereotypes..

That's right - introduce them to commercialism and branding as soon as they enter the world - at least the kids can't really focus yet.

Holy moly ... well, hopefully people there have choices and can go elsewhere if this weirdness is too much for them.

When you're having a baby, you should get WHATEVER you want for your surroundings. That being said, I'm fond of Hello Kitty myself and would prefer this to the typical hospital environment. BTW, I don't believe that Hello Kitty has no mouth--she just has a cute little mouth that you can't see because it's closed. Cats have all that fur, you know.

It's creepy. What if something went wrong while you were giving birth.. I'd hate to have something bad happen, but especially when I'm surrounded by creepy Hello Kitty stuff. And BTW, I adore cats, just think this is way too creepy.

I like the idea of a hospital that has a cute theme overall to make it feel warmer and more personal... heck, letting women choose "themes" for the linens and such in the recovery room might feel much more welcoming. I don't think the newborn babies will notice or care regardless.

However, a hospital filled with Hello Kitty stuff is a bit... bizarre and creepy unto itself.

This is great. I think I would be so distressed by the visual stimulation of this pink hell that I wouldn't feel the pain so much. I am totally headed to Taiwan if I ever give birth.

These women are having babies not becoming babies. If they are going to all that effort to decorate the maternity ward why not decorate it in a way that the patients may like.

I'm not a fan of Hello Kitty and this is way too sugarcoated for me, but I still think there's a good idea: we should be able to render our hospital room more... hospitable and less sterile. I'm giving birth for the first time in a few months, and I WANT my cushion, upholstered with a japanese fabric I love. Maybe I'll try and bring a slipcover too...

Totally NOT. This is scary as hell! I don't plan to have my baby go into a nursery and be away from me after being inside of me for 10 months- that's got to be scary for her. And it would be scary for me!! I'm gonna want that baby right where I can see her! Luckily I have a boyfriend who will be giving me lots of help- I don't think having her room-in with us will keep me from sleeping, I hope!

soothing colors...cute pics to be had...LOVE it...really do. would be nice if there was more than just Hello Kitty though...maybe another Sanrio character for those having boys...pink can be a bit much...need blue too! ;)

I like this, as a mother of two i know how important it is to have things the way you want before/while/after giving birth.

Btw hospitals are sterile and there are nursery's, its common practice. I hate the feel of hospitals, all the white, and the unfamiliarity of doctors and nurses thats why I did my births at a water birthing clinic with mid-wives.

Love it. It's hilarious. And fun. What great photos for the memory book? I imagine homebirthers will now want to adopt this fashion for themselves : ) I'm more of a hello kitty accents like an alarm clock or a purse. You've just gotta smile when you see her.
