They're not pretty, but a cost effective system for the sleep-deprived. If you have a regular nurser who does both sides every time, it's not an issue, like my son. But if you have a "dabbler" who likes to nurse for only a few minutes on only one side, like my daughter, you learn pretty quickly that you have too keep track or else...mastitis, crabby baby, etc. I used one of these and it was very helpful. (Although the little time indicators are kinda hard to slide and instead of wearing two bracelets, I just transferred it from arm to arm to keep track of the side.)

Yes, I was thinking I might just use any old bracelet (or pin, etc.) to keep track of which side is next....I'm sure I have a pile of old rubber bracelets somewhere!

it is a good idea. especially in the early weeks/months. waking in the wee hours of night confused me sooo much. id usually just wear a tank top and leave one of the straps off of whatever side i just nursed from. although, that method wont fly in public.. haha. likewise, as amberm suggested, use your own bracelet. its free.

I used a ring and transferred it from hand to hand, which worked pretty well once I actually remembered to switch, but I'd probably throw one of those bracelets into a shower basket.

They definitely serve a purpose, but they do make "nicer" ones out of beads.

Gah! No foolin' your own bracelet is free. Plus after you get past the early weeks you wouldn't need it at all.

Yeah, I'm a boob-feeler, too. I think they are silly and expensive. I'd just use jewelry I already had if I wanted to do something like this.

hello! have a feel. the firmer, fuller breast is likely the one that needs the emptying, no? have we forgotten how to be in tune with our own bodies that we would actually need a product like this? i don't recall being so sleep deprived that my brain stopped functioning, either. and i am currently nursing an 8 week old.
in a day of $4 a gallon gas, i can't imagine laying out $7 for something as silly as this. call me crazy!

A good way to kick start a dabbler is to change his/her diaper between sides. That usually wakes them up enough to continue.
