This is taking "green" a bit literally. Those are actual living vines growing on this swing, designed by Marcel Wanders. The idea is that you fill the seat with soil and seeds, and the vines grow up the ropes, making the swing "a poetic resting place for either your garden or your living room."

As pretty as it is, if I have a swing in my house I'm definitely going to plant my butt on it.

you can still sit in it. the soil is contained. i don't know that i'd want it in my house or not though. maybe on an screened in porch or sunroom.
