I don't like the background color, but the framed message board could work well with shabby chic decor.

Too busy - message board should be simple as by their nature they can get busy just from notes, photos, etc.

Reminds me of the sort of punky version of Marie Antoinette staring Kirsten Dunst.

I'm not liking the colors and frame chosen, but I like the idea of recycling an old frame and scrap fabric into a message board.
